How Treatment Can Help

Benefits of Our Atlanta Center for Mental Health

Seeking out mental health treatment in Atlanta can be incredibly beneficial.

By learning how to manage your mental health symptoms, you can create the foundation for long-last mental wellness. At Time Wellness Center, the following are benefits of our mental health program in Atlanta.

Learn How to Communicate

The ability to openly communicate your emotions is perhaps the most essential aspect of learning to manage your mental health properly. In treatment, this can include both communicating with your therapist as well as discussing your feelings in a peer support or group therapy model.

These skills will allow you to be better able to communicate openly with family and loved ones in the future.

Build Your Self-Esteem

Adverse mental health can often take a severe toll on our self-esteem and self-worth. Anxiety and depression can cause feelings of shame, guilt, and worthlessness. Learning that mental health is nothing to be ashamed of and learning to love yourself can significantly improve overall mental well-being.

Community Support

Group therapy can give you a network of supportive peers who understand exactly how you feel and where you are coming from. Socialization and peer support not only can help build a support network but helps to reduce the societal stigmas around mental health as well.

Learn New Coping Skills

Therapy models, such as cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy, are founded on teaching and building upon coping strategies and skills that can help in the future. For example, CBT focuses on engaging clients to recognize the basis and causes of their negative feelings and enforces how to change those into positive ones.

Emotional Regulation

Tangentially, the coping mechanisms, life skills, and self-awareness cultivated through things like yoga, cognitive behavioral therapy, and outdoor therapy work together to help you better regulate your emotions. Dialectical behavioral therapy, in particular, can be used for emotional regulation and conflict resolution in your daily life and personal relationships.

What to Expect When Entering Treatment

Treatment at Our Atlanta Mental Health Center

Our comprehensive mental health treatment includes several approaches to succeed and find success.

By learning how to manage your mental health symptoms, you can create the foundation for long-last mental wellness. At Time Wellness Center, the following are benefits of our mental health program in Atlanta.

Partial Hospitalization & Stabalization

Partial hospitalization programs (PHP) are a form of outpatient therapy that usually occurs at an outpatient mental health facility. It involves spending up to five days per week at the facility and typically provides the same clinical hours as a residential program without living at the center.

Partial hospitalization can be helpful for people with severe mental health disorders who need more support than traditional outpatient therapy provides–but may not require 24/7 care or inpatient hospitalization.

Intensive Outpatient Program

You will attend therapy sessions at a professional facility during intensive outpatient programs (IOP). These sessions are typically held three to five times weekly for three hours each time. Your treatment plan may also include participating in additional activities like group therapy or classes related to your treatment goals. You’ll likely leave with homework assignments or other tasks that can keep you on track while away from the office.

Compared with partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs tend to be less intense but offer more flexibility: they don’t require patients to stay as long at a facility and often allow them to continue working throughout their treatment period. Because intensive outpatient programs aren’t residential facilities, they’re also generally cheaper than partial hospitalization programs–though there may still be fees associated with attending sessions and transportation costs if needed.

Outpatient & Extended Aftercare

Traditional outpatient therapy is a type of mental health treatment that is done in a person’s home or at a therapist’s office. Therapy sessions are usually once a week but can be more frequent. Sessions are usually one hour long.

Time Wellness offers a variety of outpatient mental health treatment programs in Atlanta, so clients can find the best program to fit their needs. Contact us today to learn more about how our Atlanta mental health treatment can help you.

Adolescent Evening IOP

Some symptoms of mental health disorders begin to appear during adolescence. For teens who need help, our adolescent evening IOP program in Atlanta is here. Teens can learn how to manage their mental health symptoms during the outpatient level of care. That way, they won’t disrupt their school schedules while attending our treatment program.
